Hey I've got as much of a man crush on Barack F. Kennedy as anybody else in the 18-29 demographic, what with his refreshing charisma, his rhetorical talent, his Crest Whitestrips, his last name being so fun to sing the "Banana-fo-fana" song with, and so on. But I can't be the only one that's started to find him really annoying recently, can I? I miss the humble, thoughtful, grassroots populist Obama. Obama circa 2004. What's up with this Baptist preacher thing he keeps doing? Where everything starts as a whisper in the cornfields of Iowa filled with the hopes and dreams of Americans and the wind! and the corn! and the hills of South Carolina! East, west, north, south! Another family puts up a "for sale" sign in their front yard! Voices of the people! Washington players! Stakes too high! Red states, blue states, United States of America! YES WE CAN.

I agree. It's obvious he's been trying to mimic Martin Luther King Jr. in his speeches lately.

I think Barack is a great speaker... You can't help but feel goosebumps when he gets on the podium to talk, like you're witnessing history. What other politican can do that right now?

I know what you mean. He should and will be president but I swear, if he says that red states/blue states thing one more time I'll scream.

Hey Pete, what happened to your policy of not using your blog to step on a soapbox and rant?

Obama's a windbag. He keeps talking about unity, but where's the backup? Hillary was able to work with Republicans who were gung-ho for Bill's impeachment...now that's playing well with others. We need a President who will roll up the sleeves and do shit, not just talk pretty.

I'll be happy with either Obama or Hillary as president, but Obama WILL unite the country. Look at how he's winning all the red states.

Regarding him saying the red states, blue states line all the time, that's why it's called a stump speech. Although some of you watch political coverage all the time, others are hearing his speech for the very first time.
