Bots love me so much that they've inundated the site with lots of spam recently, making this place a zoo for penis enlargement and erectile dysfunction pill ads. I've cleaned up a lot of my affected blog entries, but that doesn't change the fact that these bots can and will still strike at any moment in the future if I don't do anything about it. So, sadly, commenting on all entries will be disabled until further notice.
This won't be a permanent thing, but most likely when commenting is enabled again, I'll require authentication -- unless I can think of a better alternative. Yeah, I know. "What has this world come to?"
But hey, you know what, just for kicks I'm going to leave comments open for this entry and this entry only. Knock yourselves out, bots.
UPDATE: I swear, 10 hours ago, I thought I was being punished by an Old Testament God with all of those spam comments. But now that I've dared them to spam this blog entry, there's been no activity. I know you think I'm crazy, but I'm not -- it's times like these where I feel like Sandra Bullock in The Net, or more recently, Jodie Foster in Flightplan -- but really, those bots weren't leaving me alone earlier! Anyhoo. I've decided that from now on I'm just going to leave my most recent blog entries available for comments. Deal? Deal.

What the heck is a bot, and where is all this spam you speak of?
f'ing jager bombs
I think you scared off the spammers.
surreal
A captcha should do the trick. Hopefully MT has some kind of support for that.
I don't see how you didn't have a problem like this before. I had to change commenting on my site like a year ago. There is also another thing you can do if you don't want to use capcha, basically out another step in the comment submittal. Closing old posts is a must, I got way top much spam on old comments. Anyway good luck fighting those bots.
out = put and top = too ... Stupid blackberry keyboards, p and o should not be on the same key
