Not Dylan

Elvis Costello is the greatest songwriter of all time, and I just get so angry and offended when people laugh at me for saying that. That is all.

They have every right to laugh at you...you're crazy if you think that.

I don't think you really believe that. That's why this blog is labeled "drunk", right?

I think you've got a good point of view here...who can compare with the jaw-dropping talent of Elvis Costello?

Bob Dylan...Leonard Cohen...Howard Devoto...Joni Mitchell...perhaps Macca, aside from his vile lost fifteen-year period (1980 - 1995).

This Year's Model, North and All This Useless Beauty are as astounding, mature and exciting as great music gets.

And he goes on improving all the time.

You know whats funny is that you once told me that after several beers at some party back a few years ago and I thought you were only joking.

That was pretty random. How about a longer post about why you feel this way?

I hope you just said that for shock value. Bob Dylan is a genius and a living legend on par with Shakespeare. Costello?? Are you kidding me Pete. He's not even in the conversation.
