The Power of the Internet...

Thanks, Cub fans, for coming through for me and focusing your collective mental Cubbie energies to allow the White Sox to win it. I KNEW I did a good thing by urging a temporary peace between the north and southsiders for the greater good.

As the great Abraham Lincoln once said, “A house divided cannot stand.”

I'm happy for them but it's sad to me that the Whitesox making it to the WS doesn't get half the attention that the Cubs got for making it ot the NLCS in '03.

I think that just proves that the Cub fans phenomenon is legit and not some silly bandwagon thing. They don't need to win the World Series to be the most popular team in baseball.

I have seen a resurgance in rap videos and the such with White sox merchandise. That makes me feel fuzzy inside.

The difference between the two fandoms is: Sox are the poor/black side of towns team and Cubs are wealthy/white side of towns team plus Cubs have a tourist attraction ballpark so a lot of non fans go every day while Sox park is in between the freeway and the projects so no one goes there unless they really want to. Cubs are style over substance with hot babes an drunk wigga suburbanites at the park. Sox are misery and drunken white trash running on the field to attack 70 year old 1st base coaches from behind.

If you are white and you like sox you are prolly poor or your parents were ... if you are black you like the sox whether you are poor or not ... Polish, Irish or black covers most sox fans because thats who the working class/poor are in chicago ... Assclown.

Larry: I suggest you visit the west-lawn, beverly, or garfield ridge neighborhoods of the south side instead of relying on wikipedia or whatever dubious source for your demographic info about chicago's south side. I bet you couldn't afford a house there... Assclown.
