Happy Birthday, ill-noise.com!
A year ago today, I secured the domain name ill-noise.com and created a blog for pretty much the same reason anyone ever starts one: self-indulgent ranting and subtle vanity. My motivations have since evolved and now, a year later, I've realized that my commitment to this blog comes from deeper places than I first thought.
I'm really proud of this site and the content I've put on it. The recent popularity that my blog has received is really flattering, as are the encouraging emails I've gotten from people saying that they enjoy my style of writing. And to think, just a little over a year ago I was still messing around with my crappy Geocities site.
If you are a novice blogger and would like for people to actually read your blogs on a consistent basis, my advice to you is to write as passionately and profanely as possible.
Also, cut down on really big paragraphs. I really hate that shit.
What you'll never see on my blog is me trying to write poetry. If you're a dude and don't want to turn people away from your blog or question your sexuality, please don't post poetry on your blog. Or song lyrics.
You'll also rarely see me get very personal on my blogs. The only time I can remember ever writing a deeply personal blog was when my grandma passed away. Otherwise, I try to be as vague as possible about my personal life. I'm not too keen on exposing my emotions for the rest of the world to see. It's just creepy when little Visvadinu from Sri Lanka knows what is going on in my head and how I'm feeling. I'd rather tell him all about the nature of my bowel movements instead.
The thing I'm most thankful for in creating this site is that it's given me a hobby, a creative platform. No matter how busy I get in my life, I always need some sort of project to work on. Whether it's a drawing or a rap album or a novel, there has to be something to scratch my creative itches. Or else I go cuckoo.
Anyway, happy first birthday, ill-noise.com. You're my baby, my true labor of love.

Out of all the blogs I read on a daily basis, I have to say that ill-noise is the most entertaining. Most blogs are just people telling the world what they did on their weekend. I could really care less about what those people write (and those huge paragraphs are really annoying). This blog is actually entertaining and worthy to be read. Keep up the good work!
Happy birthday Ill Noise!!
ill-noise.com is just a charming and lovable site. i've seen you work on a lot of little 'projects'
Petey Pete, YOU are the blogmaster, Rock on brother!
You've got a great site, Pete, I love reading what you have to say!
I've been reading your blogs since January and I still don't know how you do it! Everything you write sparkles; you have a knack for crafting entertaining blogs. I particularly enjoy your potty humor! You consistently put out material that becomes a window into your colorful personality and I will DEFINITELY still be a reader when this blog celebrates its 2nd birthday next year!
Haha, thanks for the kind words, Kaler! And no, I am not going to bed with you.
Happy first birthday! Somehow, a few weeks ago I found your blog and have since enjoyed your writing. I hate to tell you this but I am an old man, don't take it too personal. I've heard about a neo-hippie movement, maybe there is hope for me yet. Keep up the excellent blather.
I'm a huge fan of your site. I read a lot of blogs and you rank up there as having one of the best. I would like to beg to differ however and say you are more personal in your writing than you think. I've never met you but after going back and reading most of your archive I have a pretty good idea about who you are. Anyways, congrats on 1 year of blogging, never quit writing....
holy crap you have been doing this for a year?
Look at everyone kissing your ass. Your writing sucks, Pete. I read it everyday to witness the ever increasing, uneard of levels of sucking. You think I sit here laughing cause you're funny? Huh-uh. I laugh at your paltry attempts at-i'm not even going to call it writing-putting words down. Just joking. Your website and your writing are entertaining as hell. Bow down to the master. Happy B-day.
