Son of a Bush!
Don't get me wrong, I kind of hate Bush. But I'm voting for him.
No matter what Michael Moore says, it is still very apparent that we are winning the war on terror. Osama bin Laden is now reduced from proclaiming global jihad to "leave us alone and we'll leave you alone"—just watch his latest tape.
And the Taliban is history. Afghanistan is a democracy. Three years later, Osama bin Laden is now without training camps, troops to command, and hope of ever regaining the infrastructure and sanctuary he once had. He may still be alive, but the hole he crawled into can't be too comfortable. Moreover, Saddam Hussein is now in jail awaiting trial and Iraq has been turned into democracy.
Between Kerry and Bush, I think most Americans would agree that Bush is the better leader (although it's safe to say that people are still angry about the lack of WMD's), so let's talk about the issue that people are saying is Bush's weakness: the economy. And what I'm telling you is that it could get worse with Kerry in office.
I'm not saying that Bush has done a good job with the economy; in my opinion he could have been more conservative fiscally, especially with our monster deficit. Also, I understand the rationale for the Bush tax cuts (increase spending, investments) but I'd agree that it was bad timing. But... Kerry is proposing a number of government programs that aim to increase the government beyond the scope that even Bush has pushed it out to.
In the health care area, Kerry is planning on giving people a $1,000 break on their medical insurance premiums. How is he going to do this? He is also interested in some version of nationalized health care which is sure to be a huge drain on our economy and would eventually come under the same heading as Social Security and Medicare.
I'll just end it on this note: as unpopular as Bush is for his decisions, at least he has a spine. At least he's consistent. Do we really want a president who continuously checks the political winds in order to determine his direction? Bush sucks, but there is no way I am bringing myself to vote for Kerry.
So there you have it. I'm voting for Bush, although I do kind of hate the fucker. Bottom line is, Barack Obama in 2008.
