2004 Mini-golf World Championship
The 2004 World Mini-golf Championship took place yesterday, between me, Lynn, and Megan. I’ve reigned as the world’s greatest mini-golf player for the past eight years and there was some question as to whether a seasoned and celebrated veteran such as myself would still have the heart to defend my title — especially against the likes of Megan, who has been vying to defeat me since forever. Lynn as usual didn’t pose a threat, so it was basically a two-man contest between me and Megan.
The stakes were a little higher this time around. 3rd place person gives a 5 minute massage to the 1st and 2nd place person. The 2nd place person also gives a 5 minute massage, to the 1st place person.
It was an extremely intense battle, except if you were Lynn. As you can see here by Lynn’s posture, she's already accepted her defeat.
Megan however dug in deep and sank an incredible putt to put herself in a 1-shot lead over me for the 18th hole...
But in an incredible display of concentration and the will to win at all odds, I conjured up “The Shot Heard ’Round The World” — 30 foot putt over a steep hill, sand traps, and water hazards... into the hole for the tie! Here you see me with my trademark fist pump, a la Tiger Woods. I’m so ecstatic that all you see are the whites of my eyes, because my pupils are rolled into the back of my head in triumph.
