Reminiscin'
This school year finally comes to a close, and although I graduate next fall, it really feels like I’m graduating this May. To all the people that are graduating this spring — Kevin, Scott, Derek, Erin, Julie, whoever else that I forgot — congrats.
You know that feeling you get when all your buddies are graduating before you, and you still got like, 18 more math credits to make up? Yeah, I hope I don’t feel that next fall. Fortunately for me, Dave and Phil are on the 7-year plan. Phew.
It’s a little strange. I remember pulling my suitcase full of junk from Grant parking lot all the way to Douglas Hall that very first freshman day. I remember walking onto my floor, scared as shit, meeting my first roommate Dan for the first time. There was meeting Dave, and being Bash Brothers from the start, and thinking he’s future-best-man-at-my-wedding-someday material. Obviously there was Phil, who opened my eyes to a whole new level of anal-retentiveness, and ultimately became the best sidekick a superhero could ever ask for.
Then you got sophomore year and the memorable 9B crew. Sneakin’ into Huskie Stadium at night, stealing fake plastic trees from the lobby, drinking lots of everclear — those times definitely won’t be forgotten.
Jump to junior year and you got the quartet of me, Phil, Dave, and Tim living at our very first apartment. This is where Dave and Phil found their current flames, Becky and Kristen, respectively. Me, I just found Miller the Hamster.
Then jump to senior year and you got a kick-ass Huskie football team, Cubs in the playoffs, and lots of other great times at this apartment.
And in between all of this was a lot of skipping class, rapping, drama, drinking at Starbuster’s on Thursday nights, basketball with Roy, cramming for finals, etc, etc, etc.
Etc.
